KDE Dancing in the Breeze

As KDE’s Plasma 5 is taking shape, we are seeing more and more goodies every week.

Their new style suite is called Breeze, and some parts of it are already out in the wild — ready and working on KDE 4/Plasma 1. One of these is the Breeze colour scheme, a fresh approach to gradient windows. Take a look:

Oxygen vs Breeze
KDE goes light and flies with the breeze.

The first thing you’ll notice is that they have gone light. Although I am on the dark side, I must say, Breeze does look better than Oxygen to me.

This is running, of course, on KDE 4.13. I have yet to try the beta version of Plasma 5, but as soon as I do, I’ll share my experiences (and screenshots) with you. Meanwhile, you might want to read about KDE 5’s default font, Oxygen.

Happy computing.
